It began with whispers. A cousin named Mike claimed a woman followed him everywhere, a figure he called Mommy Ego. At first, it sounded like a child’s invention—until the house proved otherwise. One afternoon, as the TV asked cheerfully, “Would you like a refreshing glass of water?”, every faucet in the house burst to life at once. Water gushed, cupboards slammed, dishes rattled.
