  • Why Black Friday Is Still a Big Deal
The Christmas shopping rush is underway. While Black Friday isn’t what it used to be, with people camped outside of stores for hours, it’s still a big deal—and a big day for deals. The National Retail Federation estimates that 131 million Americans will shop online or in stores today. Gerald Storch, the former CEO of Toys ”R” Us, previews this year’s holiday shopping season and discusses how inflation is impacting consumers and retailers. The holiday season wouldn't feel complete without the familiar sight of the Salvation Army's red kettles and the sound of their bell ringers. For over a century, devoted volunteers for the charitable organization have gathered contributions to assist those facing hardships. Commissioner Kenneth Hodder joins the Rundown to discuss how the Salvation Army helps the homeless, those affected by natural disasters, and many others in critical need. Commissioner Hodder also discusses the importance of next week’s Giving Tuesday and why this year's holiday calendar presents unique challenges. Plus, commentary from Former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chair Neil Chatterjee. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Americans Feasting On A Budget
As Americans gather around the table today, those meals cost less than last year but are still much more than just a few years ago. In fact, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year will be 19% higher than before the pandemic. Stew Leonard Junior, the president and CEO of Stew Leonard’s supermarket chain, joins the Rundown to discuss why food prices remain high years after COVID-19 lockdowns, what retailers and consumers are doing to cope with inflation, and what could bring down prices. Earlier this fall, hurricane Helene devastated much of America’s southeast, and with the holiday season here, many families remain displaced. However, Tunnel To Towers is teaming up with businesses to gather and distribute toys to families impacted by the storm. Retired New York City firefighter Tom O’Connor speaks with Fox News senior meteorologist and host of The Janice Dean Podcast, Janice Dean, about why he has worked for years with Tunnel to Towers to bring toys to families during the holidays that have been affected by natural disasters and how you can help deliver joy to children who have already been through so much. Plus, commentary by Vice President of Communications for Focus on The Family, Paul Batura. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Evening Edition: ICE Forms Task Force To Combat Venezuelan Gang
The acting ICE Director Patrick Lechleitner said the dangerous Venezuelan gang 'Tren de Aragua' (TdA) now poses enough of a threat in the U.S. that a new priority task force has been formed to combat them. The task force named 'Operation Athens' in honor of nursing student Laken Riley who was murdered by a TdA member in Athens, Georgia. ICE says that about twenty percent of all open investigations being conducted by them are related to this gang. FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with FOX's Griff Jenkins, reporting from Washington D.C., who says President-elect Trump should feel some vindication for warning about the dangers of this transnational gang. • The Department Of Education. Should It Stay Or Should It Go?
On the campaign trail, President-elect Trump made big promises when it came to education, calling for an end to the Department of Education. Then candidate Trump pointed out anti-Semitism on college campuses, transgender women in women's sports, and "woke" teachings for the reasons why he would slash the department. He's charged former business executive Linda McMahon as his nominee to lead the department, with many fearing that cuts could cause a shakeup for public schools. Former Department of Education Secretary during the first Trump administration, Betsy DeVos, joins the Rundown to discuss why she believes the Department of Education has become obsolete. Earlier this week, the Trump administration announced plans to impose 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, as well as 10% tariffs on goods from China. Many experts have criticized the plan, saying it will increase inflation and harm the relationship with the border countries. Professor emeritus at the University of Maryland and tariff expert Peter Morici joins to break down Trump's plan and share insights on what would happen to the economy.
