Tell Me Your Ghost Story

Abbey has gotten used to the isolation of her family’s extremely rural ranch. What’s harder to get used to are the unexplained things that happen there. The ranch’s living quarters date back to the 1800s, and have a long history with cowboys, outlaws, and death. Strange activity on the property makes her think that some former occupants may still be hanging around. But the ranch’s mysteries aren’t confined to the house. Abbey and her family have also witnessed strange phenomena in the skies above the property.

Both women in this episode experienced something in their homes that wouldn’t fully make sense until much later.

After years of unexplained activity in her childhood home, Brooke uses a Ouija board to try to communicate with whatever was haunting their home. She makes contact with someone calling himself Billy, who shares details about his identity and how he died. Later, Brooke would come across information that appeared to confirm what Billy had told them.

When Savannah moves into a historic Hollywood apartment, she finds herself afraid of her bathroom for reasons she can’t explain. The feeling becomes so intense that she eventually refuses to enter the bathroom altogether. Months later, an unexplained experience with a friend validates the fear she’d had from the beginning. It isn’t until they’re preparing to move out that Savannah finally looks into the apartment’s history and discovers what once happened inside that bathroom.

When Jared’s family moves into a new home, his stepdad tells him that the previous owner, a man named Joe, died in the house. At first, Jared assumes it’s just a story meant to scare him, until the night he encountered Joe himself. But whatever is happening in Jared’s house may only be part of the story. The land surrounding their property seems to have its own strange history, from encounters with unnaturally large canine creatures to a Bigfoot sighting that had everyone at his school talking.

When Savannah was 11, her life revolved around her family's Pentecostal church, like many others growing up in the Bible Belt. Nearly every night was spent at services where people claimed to perform miracles, speak in tongues, and practice "slain in the Spirit" rituals.
