If I was invited to spin at a day pool party in Vegas, this is what I'd hit them with. The perfect soundtrack to your busy day making new friends and managing your cocktails. It's designed to be background music, but intends to inspire random acts of dancing throughout. A lot of funky bass, some hype remixes, and a few 70's bangers make this an eclectic mix for your day. Etch Radio [034 : You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone]
Dance music, house music, pool party music : I've been pulling these tracks together for two years. It's been really hard to categorize this one, which might be why I love it so much. Electronic music, for me, affects so many of my emotional states at once. This mix is very representative of that. There are moments of tenderness and moments of elation. There can be tracks that are perfect for peak hours at a club, and then it can be very reflective. The name is something that came to me immediately the moment I finished the mix. Within hours of its completion, a legend of a human being passed and left us. In many ways a father figure to me, he is going to leave a huge hole in many people's lives. But to be honest, he lived an extraordinary life, and memories of him will keep us all comforted. The name also stems from an epic track in this mix by Grimes, and I'll think of Pete every time I hear it. I hope this mix gets inside you, too.

Etch Radio [033 : Pool Daze]
Dance music, house music, pool party music : Ahh, that feeling of hope is really sinking in as the vaccine coarses through my veins today. I'm dreaming more and more about spending time in the sun by a pool listening to beautiful house tracks. So I'm going to keep this vibe going a little longer until we all get there later this year. Drawing on my love for The Cabana, I'm just continuing that poolside vibe for another hour and 45 minutes. A little 80s, a little disco, and a lot of groovy, deep, funky, disco ball-infused melodies. Enjoy, my friends.

Etch Radio [032 : The Cabana]
Dance music, house music, pool party music : Feeling trapped for the past year? COVID caught us all off guard and took away all of our basic social needs, including getting out to dance. What a lost art that is right now. I, like many of my friends, have been talking about how much we miss being out in the club, or a festival tent, or poolside with a DJ who just gets the vibe you want on a sunny day with friends. So this was my task. To remember those amazing pool parties and pay homage to them, I'm presenting you with The Cabana – one of those mixes that surrounds the pool scene and drives its beautiful social environment. Remember those days? Well it's coming back soon, but not soon enough. So hopefully this mix will get those vibes back until we emerge from our houses with squinted eyes and pale skin. I can't wait to get back to the cabana. Enjoy, my fiends.

Etch Radio [031 : Surrender]
Techno, tech house, house music, house, indie house, deep house : This is a unique mix for me. It's in a genre I've been really digging for a while - Indie House. My intention for this mix is to capture the vibe from one of those nights that wasn't supposed to happen. Tonight you're not planning some night at an overly popular, glitzy club with a VIP table for 10 of your friends. This night is some unplanned, last minute gig at an unknown location that a friend of a friend invited you to. It's a place that you're not totally comfortable in as you descend a dark staircase to the basement of an abandoned church. The muffled sound of the bass slowly becomes more pronounced as the damp, warm air passes you up the staircase. On this night, you'll soon find yourself on the dancefloor with your eyes closed, the lights streaking across your eyelids, and you'll swear you just heard a part from an old Blondie song from 1980. You'll also sense hints of Erasure, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Donna Summer, and Dead or Alive. None of this mix is 80's music, but it subtley takes you back to that feeling you had long ago. And it catches you many times in your comfortable spot and lifts you up until you get that smile on your face, before it drops you back down for a couple of proper heads down tunes. The mix ebbs and flows like this, all with pervasive, driving basslines that keep you in the groove. The world melts away. Surrender.
Acerca de ETCH RADIO [Techno, Tech House, House Music]
I became involved in the electronic music movement in 1998 when a close friend dragged me into a dark nightclub in San Diego. I heard about the scene on many occasions, but was never willing to open up to it. After one night in that club, I began what has been an incredible 15 year journey. Electronic music – whether it's techno, tech house, house music, progressive house, breaks, chill or workout mix – has had a huge impact on my life. It is very emotional to me. It can match any of my moods, and it has a way of just letting me be. These mixes are a reflection of my moods – some are mellow and some are very intense. You probably share those ups and downs, and for that reason I'll sit in my room, late at night, and try to get these mixes just right. Hope you like them. Etch
