Are You Fighting the Good Fight?
Tonight’s Scripture“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” — 1 Timothy 6:12 Something to PonderMany of us try to avoid conflict—in our homes, workplaces, communities, and especially online. We long to live in peace, echoing Paul’s encouragement in Romans 12:18: “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” But a peaceful faith-filled life doesn't mean a passive one. There are times when faith demands a fight. The Apostle Paul himself spent much of his ministry facing opposition and even imprisonment. He knew that living a bold, uncompromising life for Christ would bring spiritual warfare. And today, our faith is still challenged daily—by cultural pressures, personal battles, and the enemy of our souls. Paul calls us not just to live peacefully, but to fight faithfully. He reminds us in Ephesians 6 to put on the full armor of God so that we can stand firm against evil. This spiritual battle isn’t fought with weapons of anger or division, but with truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. In moments of challenge, we are not left defenseless—we are equipped. Your Nightly PrayerDear Father,As Paul encourages, help us to live in peace as much as possible in our lives.
