Welcome back to our REWIND series! Christi and Kelly are going back through the archive, re-editing, and re-uploading our old episodes — in order, from the very beginning of Dance Moms. This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 11 (“It All Ends Here”), where the ALDC heads to Lake Tahoe for nationals and Kelly reaches another breaking point with Abby.

After weeks of watching Brooke and Paige get bad costumes, weaker choreography, and less attention, Kelly is already exhausted. But when Abby brings up Brooke’s national title during another argument, Kelly has had enough — and tells her exactly where she can shove that crown.

Christi and Kelly look back on that classic moment. Kelly explains that she never cared about the crowns the way Abby did, she just wanted Brooke and Paige to be given a fair shot, treated with respect, and not made to feel like they were less than the other girls.

They also revisit the rest of the nationals chaos: Chloe breaking down from exhaustion, Kurt showing up in Tahoe, Maddie and Chloe performing “Black Swan,” Brooke and Paige’s duet, and the group dance that finally gives the girls a big win at the end of a brutal season.

Christi and Kelly are in the Bahamas, but are still here to recap Dance Moms season 5, episode 29A — “Baby Dance Mama Drama,” where Kendall is put head-to-head against Maddie in Abby’s latest nationals solo battle. But per usual, there's funny stuff going on.

This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 10 ("Cathy Brings It On!", where the ALDC heads to Los Angeles and Kelly finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

After last week’s costume disaster, Abby tells Kelly to hire her own choreographer if she is so unhappy with the way Paige is being treated. Kelly ends up doing just that before everything blows up. Paige is sent into a room with a new choreographer, given almost no time to learn a solo, and immediately spirals under the pressure of knowing Abby is going to be furious.

Christi and Kelly look back on how unfair the whole setup felt, why Paige was terrified, and how quickly the storyline turned from “Kelly takes control” into Paige getting caught in the middle of another fight between her mom and Abby. For Kelly, this is one of the first episodes where you can really see her starting to crack because the drama is no longer just about her — it is hitting her kids directly.

They also revisit the rest of the LA chaos: Shangela teaching Nia the death drop, Cathy bringing Candy Apples into the rivalry, Chloe realizing Taylor is dancing to her exact solo music, Maddie’s emotional solo, “My Pumps,” and the competition results that leave Abby furious even after multiple ALDC wins.
