Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @vilmusic for the 145th installment of Amplify Series.

Electronic dance music and beyond.
Nuno Costa began his ventures into electronic music in 2008 with his Sinner moniker, and with it he created Warface, a local crew and promoter focused on dubstep, drum ’n’ bass, and UK garage.

In 2013 he kickstarted his new project, VIL, focusing mainly on techno. His debut EP came in early 2015, when Portuguese label Extended Records picked him up for a release. Soon after, he released on Lewis Fautzi’s “Faut Section” imprint, on the legendary Synewave New York, run by Damon Wild and Be as One records from Shlomi Aber.

VIL’s refined taste and set building ability has already earned him a place at some of the best clubs in the country, of which Lux Frágil and Gare are included, and is a regular presence at many of the country’s festivals as well. Fast forward to 2018, where alongside Portuguese artists Temudo and Menosdois, he creates Hayes, a collective focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases. Already counting with several vinyl releases since its inception and garnering support by some of the biggest name in the scene, Hayes turns out to be one the most promising labels to rise during the pandemic.

Furthermore VIL used the extended time in the studio between 2020 and 2021 to place his output on renowned labels outside of his own realm. Landing highly anticipated EPs both on Ben Klock’s seminal label Klockworks, Stranger’s Self Reflektion to name a few.

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @ocdtechno for the 144th installment of Amplify Series.

Since 2017, queer techno artist OCD has developed a distinctive sound where powerful, relentless rhythms collide with a deep sensitivity to atmosphere, vulnerability, and emotional and psychological depth.

A resident DJ at Berlin’s renowned queer party Gegen, she is committed to inclusive, expressive dancefloors. Her releases span labels including Noise Manifesto, Gegen, Voxnox, Boudica, Instruments of Discipline, and Khazad Records.

After openly sharing her cancer treatment experience in 2024, OCD’s sound evolved into a darker, more introverted form, seeking the transcendental power of pain as a way to process both personal and collective emotional trauma. Her music aims to evoke intense emotions and allow them to be lived within an alternative space beyond conventional social frameworks.

A key milestone was her release on Paula Temple’s Noise Manifesto, coinciding with the label’s closure. She has shared the stage multiple times with Paula Temple, including performances at Noise Manifesto label nights. She has also shared the stage with artists she admires such as SNTS, Ancient Methods, Headless Horseman, Ellen Allien, Schwefelgelb, and Bloody Mary, and this year has performed again on the main stage at Whole Festival.

With performances at iconic venues including Tresor, RSO, Khidi, and KitKatClub, OCD has toured extensively across Europe, playing in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, Greece, and Georgia. In 2025, she expanded her reach globally with her first Asian tour, performing in Mongolia, Taiwan (at the infamous Pawnshop), South Korea (at the legendary Faust), and China, with shows at Potent and Pillbox.

Through both sound and presence, OCD continues to explore techno as a space for confrontation, catharsis, and emotional truth.

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @lilyackerman for the 143rd installment of Amplify Series.

Based in Berlin, Lily Ackerman is a DJ and producer whose sound bridges hypnotic and melodic techno with leftfield electronics through immersive, narrative-driven sets. Originally from a quiet farming town in Illinois, her journey into underground electronic music began after moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she co-founded the vinyl-focused Diacritic Collective and became a resident at the long-running As You Like It parties.

Since relocating to Berlin in 2019, Lily’s selections have brought her to Germany’s respected institutions, including Berghain, Tresor, Renate, Else, Rote Sonne, elipamanoke, and objekt klein a. Alongside her work behind the decks, she has spent over a decade refining her production style, with releases on Mioli Music, Perfect Location Records, Vinyl Dreams Records, As You Like It Recordings, and Perimeter Junk. Her productions balance hypnotic groove with textured sound design, drawing equally from the dance floor and experimental electronic music.

Beyond the club, Lily is an active part of Berlin’s wider music and arts community, with appearances on Refuge Worldwide, Berlin’s community-driven radio station and collaborations across contemporary art. For Berlin Art Week 2024, Lily collaborated with artist Sarah Ancelle Schönfeld on the sound for Labor Lab, Sarah’s experimental photo exhibition at the Schering Stiftung that explores the systems that shape and regulate female reproduction. Working together, they transformed just two field recordings from Sarah's pregnancy, her voice during labor and an ultrasound recording of the fetal heartbeat, into an evolving composition that gradually unfolds into a cathartic techno piece.

For her Dirty Epic podcast, Lily presents an all-vinyl mix that unfolds with warmth and melody before gradually giving way to more driving, experimental territory. Patiently paced and carefully constructed, it traces a journey from introspection to intensity.
