Brett Gurewitz: Bad Religion, Founding Epitaph Records, Early Punk/Hardcore & The Shift to Spotify

    26/02/2026 | 2 h 34 min
We're joined by Bad Religion co-founder and Epitaph Records founder Brett Gurewitz at Brain Dead Studios in Hollywood, CA.

We discuss growing up in the West San Fernando Valley, discovering the Ramones in the late 70s, meeting Greg Graffin and Jay Bentley at El Camino Real High School and starting Bad Religion in the quad, founding Epitaph to put out the Bad Religion 7", the entire BR discography, leaving the band right before the overnight success of Offspring's Smash, rejoining for Process of Belief, his thoughts on streaming as it dominates the music landscape today, and his favorite hardcore records ever.

A genuine honor with a genuine legend and one of the best punk songwriters to ever live.

Check out Colin's hand picked Bad Religion playlist of hits and deep cuts and enjoy: Spotify & Apple Music.

Jorge Rosado: Merauder, Making Master Killer, Remembering "Sob" & The Sepultura Audition

    19/02/2026 | 1 h 49 min
Well, the day has finally arrived... After nearly four years of consistently praising Merauder's debut album, Master Killer (one of our favorite records ever) we're finally joined in person for a full length episode by vocalist Jorge Rosado.
We discuss his early life in Brooklyn, the Sunset Skins, meeting the late great Javier "Sob" Carpio, being asked to eventually join Merauder (& recording Master Killer just a few months later), the complicated timeline of Five Deadly Venoms, his love for the Eddie Leeway versions of the songs, the rejection of not landing the Sepultura gig and much, much, MUCH more.
A loaded episode that's been a long time coming. Thank you Jorge for joining us as we all celebrate 30 years of one of the best albums ever. Enjoy.

Frank "Florida Frank" Novinec: Hatebreed, Ringworm, Integrity, Terror (& The Kiss Army)

    05/02/2026 | 1 h 43 min
It's another historic day on HardLore, as we're joined by Frank Novinec (AKA Florida Frank/Frank 3 Gun) of Hatebreed, and formerly of Ringworm, Integrity, Terror and more.
We've often lauded him as having one of the best resumes in the history of the genre, and now we hear all about his introduction to music and eventually to hardcore. From raiding his parents' record collection, his lifelong connection with heavy metal (mostly KISS and Blue Oyster Cult), growing up in the Cleveland hardcore scene and starting RINGWORM, joining INTEGRITY during Systems Overload, playing TERROR while they were on the rise, all the way to now celebrating 20 years of being in HATEBREED.
An amazing insight to one of our favorite guys. Enjoy.

Walter Schreifels: Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Youth of Today & Producing Title Fight

    29/01/2026 | 1 h 36 min
We finally sit down with one of the greats at FYA Fest: Walter Schreifels of Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Youth of Today, Rival Schools and MANY more.
In this long awaited discussion, we discuss the danger of NYHC in the 1980s and how surviving it to tell the tale was all just part of the fun that kept him coming back, Gorilla Biscuits being his first hardcore band/writing “Start Today” at 19 years old, the effect on his writing that being in Youth of Today had on him, expanding beyond hardcore for the first time with Quicksand, producing Title Fight’s “Shed” and much more.
A true legend in hardcore, punk and beyond and we’re honored and grateful to have shred this time with him. Thanks to Walter and all of you. Enjoy.
