Justin Terch is the owner and principal consultant of Terch & Associates Consulting LLC, an independent human resources consulting firm serving employers throughout the upper Midwest and has offices in Duluth and St. Louis Park Minnesota. He is an experienced workplace investigator who conducts independent investigations involving employee misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and other complex employment matters and has extensive experience in partnering with corporate security.

In addition to investigations, Justin advises organizations on employment law compliance, labor relations, executive safety and security, and human resources strategy. Licensed by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, his firm helps coordinate executive protection and workplace security where he acts a critical link between human resources and security teams. He also serves as State Director for the Minnesota State Council of SHRM (MNSHRM), supporting the advancement of the human resources profession through leadership and education.

Dr. Amy Jauman, SHRM-SCP, GPHR, is an HR professional, writer, researcher, and speaker specializing in victim-centered storytelling that fosters empathy, understanding, and meaningful change. As the HR Director for the DNA Doe Project, she applies her background in organizational development to support the volunteers and professionals working to restore names to unidentified individuals. With author Tonia Bales, she co-wrote When You See It: How I Outsmarted and Outlasted Dirty John, a narrative offering clarity and encouragement for those entangled in complex legal systems and deceptive relationships. In addition to her ghostwriting projects, she has authored several HR textbooks, eBooks, and articles.

Amy has a master’s degree in experiential education from Minnesota State University, Mankato, a doctorate in organization development from the University of St. Thomas, and a graduate certificate in crime analysis from Boston University. In addition to her HR certifications, she is also a certified trauma-informed coach.

Susie Heaver is a Human Resource professional with 25 years of experience possessing a diverse skillset including program management, recruiting, training, and overall human resource functions.  A highly effective communicator with proven ability to build long term relationships with internal and external clients by establishing a high level of confidence and trust.  

Susie has been with Ernst & Young (EY) for 7 years and works on the Contingent Workforce Solutions team as a Program Manager. She works with engagement teams to find the best path to bring contractors onto their projects. 

Susie and her husband Brian live in Shakopee with their 3 boys: Gavin (15), Preston (12), and Grayson (9). The boys keep Susie and Brian busy being active in many sports including hockey, football, track and field, and soccer.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Ed Kashmarek received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota and an MBA in Finance from the Carlson School of Management. He was an economist with Wells Fargo for 10 years, working under the direction of Dr. Sung Won Sohn, Dr. Michael Swanson, Dr. Scott Anderson and Dr. Eugenio Aleman. Ed says his job was like getting paid to go to school! Ed’s commentary has appeared in ABC News, The Denver Business Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Oregonian and The Star Tribune. He was also recently a guest on AM 1280 radio to talk about economics and politics. While looking for a job during the pandemic, Ed launched his own podcast to discuss the economy and the pandemic. He even took a couple online courses to learn more about epidemiology to better discuss the COVID-19 virus. Ed is now considering launching his own unemployment consulting business to share what he has learned during his job search and to help other people get through unemployment.

When he’s not reading, writing or speaking about economics, Ed enjoys writing and playing music, listening to jazz and classical music, biking around the lakes, watching sports, watching movies, reading books, blogging and getting together with family and friends. Ed is just as passionate about music as he is about economics. He has recorded two jazz CD’s, had several of his songs played on the radio, appeared with two separate bands on the KARE 11 Morning Show and played sax with Minnesota blues legend Big Walter Smith for two years. He once gave an economic presentation in the very same building where he had previously played a gig with Big Walter!
