The Miracle Files

They had twelve seconds.

Before Gentry and Betsy Mikesell climbed into a small plane with their twin sons, they were already nervous.  Neither liked flying, but they agreed to what was supposed to be a short trip over Utah’s Uinta Mountains. Minutes later, everything changed.

The engine lost power, leaving their pilot just twelve seconds to find somewhere to land.  The plane crashed near Moon Lake, leaving Gentry trapped in the wreckage and his family stranded in a remote area with no cell service.

But as Betsy desperately prayed for help, something was happening nearly a mile away - something she couldn’t possibly have known about.

Before Kari walked into the mall with her five-year-old son, she was suddenly overwhelmed by a feeling she couldn’t explain: pray for protection.

She said the prayer, parked the car, and went on with what was supposed to be an ordinary morning. But minutes later, everything changed.

In the terrifying moments that now followed, Kari would draw on a lesson she had learned decades earlier—when evil entered her own childhood home in the middle of the night.

What followed now would test everything Kari believed—and leave her with a story she would never be able to explain as coincidence.

What was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon tubing down Michigan’s Muskegon River quickly turned into a nightmare.

Two women and a nine-year-old boy disappeared into miles of remote wilderness—with no working phone, no supplies, and no one initially realizing they were missing.

As days passed and the search intensified, hope began to fade. Then two conservation officers noticed one tiny detail that didn’t quite make sense—and decided to follow it.

This is a remarkable story of survival, perseverance, prayer, and the clue that changed everything.
