  • It's A Wonderful Life (1947)
12 Days of Christmas (Day 5) Original Review: George Bailey is a young boy growing up in a small town with big city dreams. He has his whole life planned out, that is until a family tragedy changes everything. Try as he may, he struggles with the day to day activities that seem normal to everyone else. Even after meeting a certain someone, he struggles to find any reason for his being. In an act of desperation, he makes a decision that changes his perspective. This decision will give him a chance to see what life would be like without him. Even with that, will it be enough to anchor him in the life he has now? Or will he always struggle with the mundane... This is a story about much more than a simple man, it's the story of a community that reaches beyond itself. Heartwarming and heartfelt, this will surely be a classic for generations to come. Notes: bailey savings and loan, buffalo bill come out tonight, clarence, george bailey lassos stork, it's a wonderful life, potterville

  • The Grinch (2018)
12 Days of Christmas (Day 4) Original Review: Dr. Seuss had an imagination that he wanted to share with the world. One of the most famous stories is that of the Grinch. A green creature that hates everything about Christmas. This adventure has been told countless times in print, television, and even movie form. Some have used some creative license to expand on the original Dr. Seuss idea, yet they all stayed true to the meaning of the story. So, you may ask yourself how does this one stand out? Well, not since Boris Karloff has the character of the Grinch come to life quite like this. Though it strays a bit from the original story, it makes up for it with heart. Fans of the original will once again find themselves transported to Whoville for a Christmas adventure. One that will once again remind the viewer that Christmas is about much more than it seems on the surface. Come experience it again for the first time. Notes: 101 great tree houses, a 3 eyed sock monster, buster and bean who, candy cane lane, chocolate explosion, cringle's Christmas almanac, daisy's daisies, extra in credits, Fred the reindeer, genius starts with the abs, goose juice, gorgeous green goddess, holly lane, home stay home, in loving memory of our friend herb cheyette, light maze, mold spice, moose juice, nana's nog, oh sugar plum, Past the place that you come from far beyond what you see, reinhorn 3000, Santa had eight he looks like he ate the other seven, slipshoe st, smokey's sausage corner, this is the loudest snow I've ever heard in my life, to kindness and love the things we need most, we practice like we play, who foods, who hash, who's hungry bakery

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
12 Days of Christmas (Day 3) Original Review: The classic Dr. Seuss story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas has been reimagined. This live-action adaptation of the classic features some names that are familiar and others that are new to the scene. Although it stays true to the basic story, there are some additions that add to the whole but with it, it loses a little bit of the Seuss magic. The final result is definitely Seussical with a little bit of Tim Burton inspiration mixed in. There's a little more added in as to the origin of how everything came to be the way it was. Both adding to the whole story and taking away from a little bit of it. Here we get to not only see the Grinch but we get to kind of get to know him as well. There's a special little Who who helps him find the true meaning of what it is that he's so desperately looking for. A bit of sarcasm, a lot of fun and some great songs that you'll have stuck in your head for years to come. A new classic or something more? That's for you to decide. • How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)
12 Days of Christmas (Day 2) Orginal Review: All the Who's down in Whoville prepared for a Christmas galore. There was someone else though who had something else in store. The Grinch hated Christmas, he hated it so. What he hadn't thought of though were the people below. He thought that by taking their ribbons and bags, the trees oh so merry and the packages with tags... He thought he could stop Christmas in all that it be, but he was about to learn that there was much more than a tree. The Who's had no thought of something so grim, they knew of the Grinch but never knew about him. As the Grinch carried out his notorious deed, little did he know that he'd be fooled by someone so wee. The night went as planned and just when he thought he was through. All the Who's down in Whoville he thought would boo hoo. What happened next, was something he hadn't imagined before. That Christmas perhaps was something much more. This timeless animated classic from Dr. Seuss is one that has entertained many generations before and will continue to do so for generations to come. An odd twist on the true meaning of Christmas that will warm your heart and tickle your funny bone. Experience it again for the first time... Notes: a cat in the hat presentation, a wonderful awful idea, albert hague, and they'll feast and they'll feast and they'll feast feast feast feast, and they'll sing and they'll sing and they'll sing sing sing sing, boris karloff, chuck jones, cindy lou who, come il grinch rubo il natale, como o grinch roubou o natal, die gestohlenen weihnachtsgeschenke, doctor seuss, dr seuss, dr seuss how the grinch stole christmas, eugene poddany, his heart was two 2 sizes too small, holly who wreath, how the grinch stole christmas, i must stop christmas from coming but how, le grincheux qui voulait gacher noel, maurice noble, mount crumpet, ted geisel, the tall and the small, three decker sauerkraut toadstool sandwich arsenic sauce, tomorrow is christmas its practically here, welcome to who ville, welcome to whoville

  • The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017)
12 Days of Christmas (Day 1) Original Review: Christmastime is a time filled with magic and joy. A time that we all find the magic within ourselves and others. How did that begin? Was it the birth of a king? Was it a pagan ritual? Or, was it something else entirely? This dares to explore the mind of Charles Dickens. You may be thinking, whoa... wait... but stay with me, it'll all make sense soon. Charles Dickens was/is a well-known author. His stories inspired many all over the world. When he finds himself blocked (commonly known as writer's block), he must find a new inspiration. Once he finds what it is, he'll set a seemingly impossible goal. Giving himself a mere matter of weeks to write, print, and distribute this new story. As he delves deeper into the story and the characters, we get to see a side of him that will leave you wondering if he was either absolutely magnificent or absolutely mad. Here we follow him through the process, seeing more of him than many ever might have known. In doing so, he helps us to experience Christmas like never before. Fans of the traditional "A Christmas Carol" will be astounded as to the "making of" of sorts. Those who aren't the biggest holiday or Dickens fans might want to wait. A bit slow at times, this intricate tale is a poignant portrayal of a timeless tale and how it came to be.
