Chris's Billboard Top 3000 Countdown Podcast

Episode #78 (Season 2, Episode 28) discusses songs #1460-#1441, as we inch closer and closer to the #1 song in Billboard History.  Artists featured include:
| Bachman-Turner Overdrive
| Michael Jackson
| Janet Jackson
| Olivia Newton-John
| The Temptations
| Bruno Mars
| Sly & The Family Stone
| Young Money
We've started the back 9 of the Podcast Series, and the Final 1500 songs of the Top 3000 countdown.  Michael and Janet Jackson each have Top 5 where one is alright, and the other is most decidedly...not.  A #1 hit where the lead singer didn't want to release 'cause it sounded too stupid, a Double-Sided smash from funk royalty, and the one-hit wonder that kept Thriller chart-toppers from going back-to-back at #1.
Our special segment is on follow-up songs, the second song of a smash album or a dynamite debut hit.  Some fared well, some not so much.  We dive into that fun topic!

We've started the back 9 of the Podcast Series, and the Final 1500 songs of the Top 3000 countdown.  A huge contingent of songs from the 90's Shaddoe Stevens era make up this set, as well as hits by the most recognizable stars.  One such hit from 1988 felt like a longest title contest with two other songs on the charts at the same time, and one hit from 1988 was part one of the biggest #1 soundtracks of the decade.
5 #1 hits, including an English duo that likes to shake their little toosh.    And the most famous phone number of the rock era (and it's NOT Beechwood).  And a roll call of favorite songs that feature a number in the title.
We also dive into the songs that are still remaining on the countdown.  What's left?  Which artists still have the most songs, What years?  What peak positions?

This is a special bonus episode where I generate a montage of my favorite songs, counted down from 100 to 1.  All genres (except country, I just can't with country), all eras from as early as the 1930's and as late as the 2020's.

Some have charted, a lot of #1 songs of the year!
Some are quite obscure, but very interesting.

A lot of big names like Led Zeppelin, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall & John Oates, 2pac and Fleetwood Mac.
And it's interactive!  Come to the Facebook Group and guess the songs!

Episode #75 (Season 2, Episode 25) discusses songs #1520-#1501, as we inch closer and closer to the #1 song in Billboard History.  Artists featured include:
| The Allman Brothers Band
| Rihanna
| The Isley Brothers
| Tina Turner
| Billy Joel
| Johnny Rivers
| 2pac
| The Black Eyed Peas
As we approach the halfway point of this Top 3000 countdown, we hit the final 20 songs in the first half, and a LOT of slow hits, some which I call 'Schmaltz Pop'.  Listeners give their thoughts on the most dramatic love ballad that hit Top 40, but will it equal this podcast's entrants?  We have Billy Joel's first #1 hit, 2pac's only #1 hit (actually 2 of them), and a CLASSIC 80's song that was part of a hit musical and also hit #3.  And one of the great psychedelic gospel one-hit wonders.  Yes, it's THAT song.
And a nice little summary on the first 75 episodes.  If you've listened to all of them, thank you so much.
