The New York Mets got the tying runs on base in the 9th, but four home runs by the Atlanta Braves proved to be too much as they lost the opener of this series, 5-3. 

Christian Scott got the start for the Mets and had a very up and down start. He tallied up seven strikeouts, include a pair in the first inning. But a mistake to Michael Harris II put the Braves in front early. 

Juan Soto responded for the Mets in the 3rd, tying the game right back up but three more Braves home runs put them in front for good.
