Since the early 2000s, paranormal content has exploded in popular culture. It seems we can't get enough of ghosts (and hunting for them). What could be behind this enthusiasm for spooky things. Here, I share a theory...that the paranormal is a clever way for us to be religious...without being religious. This is a BONUS VIDEO and is not a paranormal case. 46: Scary True Stories of the Australian Outback (Part 1 - Human Horrors)
The Outback is an absolutely vast area of Australia, spanning 5.6 million km squared. It covers about 70% of the content of Australia, it would take up half of the United States if placed on top. It’s mostly flat, and covered with soil that is highly infertile and it’s filled with kangaroos, dingos (Australian wild dogs).
Despite it’s size, there are barely any people. In fact, less than 5% of the Australian population live in the outback. So despite it being a beautiful, astonishing space…there is an inherent sense of threat in this wilderness. To cross it, is to become far more vulnerable than we probably have been before.
Listening to this two part Frightful won’t help.
I’ll be sharing scary true stories of tragic attacks and cruel crime to strange and frightening tales of the paranormal. I’m Peter Laws, and you’re about to hear Scary True Stories from The Australian Outback.
