The Shackles Are Very Much.... ON - #StayAtHome Episode
Remember on the last podcast where there was talk about jetting off to Sri Lanka and Abu Dhabi? Well, unfortunately, neither of those things happened due to the worsening of the dreadful coronavirus. With bigger issues at hand, but with far less to be occupying themselves with, Jack Brooks, Chris Millard and 'key worker' James Gregg dial in to have the first of a series of chats from afar in self-isolation.
Chris and Greggy forensically explore Brooksy's boxing technique as seen on Instagram, whilst he also reveals some cool and commendable ideas from he and his Somerset team-mate to help the NHS. But other than that... they're talking nonsense.... after the technology works!
We're on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook..... or give the lads a follow @chris_millard18 @brooksyferret or @jamesgregg7 on Twitter.
BANGER - Marcus Trescothick
Greggy, Chris and Brooksy are reunited once again... but not in their stomping ground of podcasts gone by...
A trip down to Taunton to see Somerset to see legendary swashbuckling, opening batsman, '05 Ashes hero Marcus Trescothick.
'Tres' talks about his early years in cricket in the cricket-loving county of cider, beating the Aussies, headbutting Kevin Pietersen and touring once again after his mental health struggles.
He also has some choice words for one of the hosts on how old they look.....
Settle in and enjoy a long podcast with the boys, and in the meantime why not check out our Instagram page @englandsbarmyarmy, Twitter @TheBarmyArmy and our brilliant website...
ON TOUR: The Port Elizabeth Pod
Another away Test for The Shackles Are Off, another victory! (That's 4 from 4 if you were wondering) Greggy and Chris speak to former England batting star and now TalkSport commentator Mark Butcher about Ollie Pope, who scored his maiden Test centurt at Port Elizabeth, his own experiences of touring South Africa, and his new music career.
The Head of Communications for the ECB Danny Reuben also sits and chews the fat about improving relations between players and the fans, and talks about how he got one of the coolest jobs in cricket.
