Ep415: Jim Kimball (Ghost Forest, Laughing Hyenas, DK3, Mule, Jesus Lizard)
That's right! It's the fantastic post-punk, punk rock, rock drummer who has played in MULTIPLE legendary bands. His newest band is the massively underrated Ghost Forest, who have a new-ish record. But you may know him from the amazing Laughing Hyenas, Mule, Denison-Kimball Trio and (for awhile.) The Jesus Lizard. Let's hear about all those bands as well as doing things with J.G. Thirlwell, Ed Roessler and the all the rest of it with a life full of fantastic rock.

Ep413: Erik Denno and Darren Zentek (Kerosene 454)
The legendary Maryland/DC band has a reissue of their classic record Came by to Kill Me on Solid Brass. The first record to be written exclusively with Darren, who would later play in Office of Future Plans, Channels, Continuals and J. Robbins Band as well. A powerful live band that practiced 5 or 6 times a week and toured relentlessly, we get a rare window into a beloved band that existed in a time before the internet as we know it exists. Came by to Kill Me, recorded by J. Robbins is a great document of a the band, and is the first time it is available digitally. It's a song by song breakdown for a ripper band that were contemporaries with many Dischord faves.

Ep412: Jamie Stillman (Harriet the Spy, Earthquaker Devices, the Party of Helicopters)
Harriet the Spy has a wonderful reissue of Unfuckwithable, through Solid Brass. Jamie played the drums in that band, but is better known to most as the Impressario behind Earthquaker Devices. As well as the Party of Helicopters, Relaxer, etc. There is much talk of touring, revisiting older material, Ohio, rocking while aging, and all that. As well as, yes... quite a bit of gear talk. Yes, yes... hard to believe.

Ep411: Brant Bjork (Kyuss, Brant Bjork Trio, Fu Manchu, Stöner)
That's right, the desert rock legend himself has a new record with Brant Bjork Trio - Once Upon a Time in the Desert. In an all star band featuring Ryan Gut and Mario Lalli! So how about a floor up discussion, all the way from getting into punk rock, pots and pans, into present day. With stops along the formative early days, into Sons of Kyuss (and later Kyuss) and after. Solo records, bands, Stöner and lots more. A track by track breakthrough of Once Upon a Time in the Desert? You better believe it. This band is hitting the road hard, let's hear all about it.

Ep410: Alexander Hacke & Danielle De Picciotto (hackedepicciotto)
It has been a long time since the Berlin based experimental duo has been on protonic reversal. There's a BEST OF the band (live in Napoli!), which also serves as a great introduction as well as other newish records. The whiplash of touring with Alexander's band Einstürzende Neubauten and then immediately doing hackedepicciotto. Soundtracks, At the Mountains of Madness, nomad life, musical discovery, touring on a budget and sometimes by train... and how not to not be completely annoyed by your musical and life partner that you are surrounded by almost the entire time.
